The author? Justine Priestley. Since moving to London in 2009, Justine has founded Really Bright Media; a social media and film business focused on helping entrepreneurs, SMEs and creatives become confident in social media, become setup with a workable strategy and the right tools, and to master powerful films to enhance their message.
Not only is she one of the most passionate and inspiring business women you will ever meet, she also happens to be one of my best friends & I miss her every day that she she spends taking London by storm.
It’s Justine's birthday today and although I’ll be at her party “in spirit” (as she so beautifully requested in her invitation) I can’t help but feel a little lost. Not being with your best friend on her birthday gives you an unsettled feeling that something's just not right with the world. & makes me wish even more that I had the money to jump on a plane this very second so I can be with her as she celebrates her next year of life!
Mary Schmich says it well;
"Understand that friends come and go, but with a precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle, because the older you get, the more you need the people who knew you when you were young"
Justine is without a doubt, one of those precious few that I want more than anything to hold onto.
And this birthday is a reminder to not just tell my good friends that on occassions such as birthdays, but to commit to constantly bridging any gaps between us to keep that friendship strong.
After all dolls, where would we be without the beautiful women in our lives who make life worth living?
Happy Birthday Jussy xxxx
